Technical Requirements / Staging
✦ The presentation requires a clear performing space with minimum dimensions of
approximately ten feet wide by six feet deep.
✦ For rooms that do not have fixed seating, the performing space should be located against a
wall and as far away from doors (main entrance, washrooms, kitchen entrance, etc) as
possible.
✦ Seating must be available for every person in the audience.
✦ Seats should be arranged in rows with a center aisle and with consideration for visual
obstacles (pillars, large plants, etc.)
✦ Organizers should have a plan in place to accommodate persons with disabilities.
✦ The audience must be able to see the presenter from the waist up at all times. This may
require a riser or an auditorium with raked seating.
✦The performance is interactive and requires members of the audience to come up onto the stage. They should have a clear and safe path up to the stage.
Scheduling
✦ Other entertainment in the room (live music, DJs, game stations, etc.) must stop for the duration of the performance.
✦ The performance must not take place while a meal is being served.
✦ The performance should take place before any awards, speeches or special presentations.
Audio / Visual
✦ A wireless hands free microphone (tie clip or discreet headset) is recommended for
audiences over 150 people.
Recording
✦Non flash photography is permitted.
✦Video and audio recording is permitted for internal archival purposes only. Additional broadcast
or dissemination the video requires prior written consent from the performer.
